1. With the Elizabeth tube line finally open you can travel direclty from Reading to Ealing Broadway in 42 minutes and from Ealing Broadway to Bond Street in 11 minutes. Heathrow T4 to Ealing Broadway takes just 21 minutes. Great news if you have to travel abroad a lot or if you live outside London and you want a quick commute.

2. Ealing is a multi-cultural hub for creative, interesting people. Its home to many who work at the nearby BBC and also those involved with Ealing Studios, which is the oldest continuously working studio facility for film production in the world. There is also a strong musical tradition led by the Ealing Jazz Club – the first UK RnB club and original haunt of the Rolling Stones.

3. Ealing ‘The Queen of the Suburbs’ boasts some gorgeous green spaces to eat your lunch in or take a lunch-time run in; Walpole Park is incredibly pretty with an ornamental bridge and a walled rose garden and the ‘Bunny Park’ (Brent Lodge Park) has a beautiful meadow and is also home to the millennial Maze and a cute small animal zoo.

There are absolutely tons of cafes in Ealing; with nearly every chain coffee house that you can think of, there are also some real independent gems too; at breakfast time, coffee fanatics will delight in the industrially chic Electric Coffee Co by the station which boasts 30 blends of coffee beans, roasted in its own roastery in West Sussex. Another fab find is Farm W5 which serves home-made yoghurt and granola and stacks of other unbelievably farm fresh produce.

5. For business lunches, there is plenty of choice.  Alongside the vast array of chain restaurants, we love the authentic Italian L’oro di Napoli and the Santa Maria whose pizzas are freshly baked to traditional, family recipes.

6. If you need a little creative or retail therapy on your lunch break – you will love ‘Open Ealing’ a building opened to promote art in Ealing – it runs classes and hosts exhibitions of local artists’ work. There is also the wonderful All Original giftshop which sells beautiful hand-made goods, all locally produced.& If you need more general shopping – the Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre has a nice range of chain stores and some boutiques too.

7. For going out after work, there are loads of bars, gastro pubs and restaurants to choose from. We like Drayton Court, with the largest beer garden in London.

8. For party animals and night owls, Turtle Bay (great for cocktails) and the Chatsworth Bar are both open until 2.30 am on a Friday and Saturday.

9. How about something a bit different after work? It’s good to know that Ealing is home to a highly regarded amateur dramatics theatre, Questor’s Theatre, which is the largest amdram theatre in Europe.& Productions are highly rated and why not get involved yourself?

10. If you want to take an interesting walk in Ealing, try walking along the Brentford/Hanwell branch of the Grand Union canal. You’ll see some famous sights such the Victorian St Bernard’s Hospital (previously known as Hanwell lunatic asylum!) and the Brunel engineering feat of the Three Bridges.
